ABOUT QUEENSCLIFF THERAPY
Hi. I'm Courtney.

How’s it going? I’m Courtney; a friendly, open and kind therapist who loves working with people from diverse backgrounds to help them on their personal journey, wherever that might be right now. (Ugh don’t you hate the word journey? Reality TV definitely ruined that one.)
So a bit of the old background info - I’ve trained integratively (at UEL - first completing a PGDip and most recently a Masters) - which basically means that rather than just learning one way of working with clients, I’ve studied a whole bunch - and I thrive on ensuring each client has a therapeutic, bespoke approach. No two people are the same, so I aim to always move the dial to where feels most effective and appropriate for each person. But collaboration is the key here - you’re the boss of your life, not me - I work with you, not at you, if that makes sense. You hate CBT? No problem, we can leave the worksheets. Enjoyed some mindfulness? Let’s work it into the sessions!
I’ve spent a couple of years volunteering at a VAWG charity, and as a result I am also trained in being trauma informed. I feel it is incredibly important to have real world experience married with considerate and ongoing training when working with clients impacted by trauma, and I continue with my learning daily.
I work in kinship with the queer, non-binary and trans communities. My practice is a non-judgmental, joyful, open and accepting space to explore all avenues of sexuality, gender and identity without shame.
Clients with both diagnosed and undiagnosed ADHD, autism and OCD (amongst the ND space) are part of my practice, and as one of this cohort I hope to bring some lived experience understanding to the challenges that can be reoccurring patterns.
Similarly my experience of both disability and chronic illness can allow clients to feel truly safe and seen - with someone who “gets it”. Working online gives clients the freedom and power to choose how best to engage with the practice, without the stress and consideration of needing to travel. This is important to me as a client, so I choose to ensure it is reflected back.
But what if none of these examples seem to resonate? What if none of this feels like it’s you? Does that mean I’m not the therapist for you?
Here’s the thing - whilst all these examples can be helpful, for specific searches - I’m more interested in YOU, and why you’re looking to reach out for support. What is it you feel like you are missing, need, want to address or resolve? How do you want to move forward in your life?
I’d be super happy to have a chat and see if it’s something we can work together on. Maybe we won’t be the right fit - and that’s fine! Therapy HAS to be the right fit for you, from practitioner, to delivery, to whole vibe. But I’m always delighted to jump on a video call and have a chat, to give you a bit of an intro and answer any questions. Hope to meet you soon.
